Submissions Closed

We have now passed the deadline for submissions (17:00 BST, 28th September 2020) so cannot now accept any work that is submitted.

Thank you to everyone who has entered EARTH2050- we are very excited to see everyone’s visions of the not-too-distant future!

What happens next:

Entries that are selected for the long list, by the judges, will be notified in the next few days (by the 1st of October at the latest). Their work will then be presented in a virtual gallery until the 23rd of November.

From the virtual gallery, the judges will score every piece and these scores will be added to the number of votes the piece receives from the online vote (also available through the gallery).

Winners will be announced on the 19th of October at the Waterline Summit at a live virtual event. (The winning entrees will also be notified via email so attendance to this event is not compulsory.)

The virtual gallery will be online and linked from the Earth2050 website in a future announcement in the next few days.

New Partners

We are pleased to announce a new partnership with The Waterline Summit 2020!

In exchange for their assistance and support in delivering EARTH2050, it has been decided that the virtual exhibition will be promoted and hosted by the Waterline Summit during their week of events in October.

The winners of the competition will be announced on the first day of The Waterline Summit 2020 (19th of October)

With that in mind, it has been decided that the DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS EXTENDED!

The new deadline for submissions is:

28th of September 2020

The dates of the virtual exhibition and online vote have therefore also been amended (please see Key Dates)

Once again, THANK YOU for your continued patience and for all the submissions so far. If you have already submitted an entry we will be in contact shortly to discuss the amended arrangements.

Moving Online

THANK YOU for your continued patience and for all submissions so far – we are very excited by the range of talent which has been sent in for consideration!

SUBMISSIONS ARE STILL OPEN– and the deadline remains the 15th of August 2020

Due to uncertainty around when venues may re-open the decision has been made to run this competition online. Long-listed submissions will be posted on this website for an online vote, the results of which will be announced on the 15th of September!

Long-listed submissions will be displayed in a virtual gallery, alongside the work of our sponsor artists, for the duration of the voting period and for one month after (until the 15th of October).

For more information about the competition updates, please peruse the menu above.

Thank you and stay safe.

COVID-19

Due to the current public health situation and uncertainty regarding public gatherings in the near future, the EARTH2050 exhibition and prize-giving evening has been POSTPONED.

However, SUBMISSIONS WILL REMAIN OPEN with an extended deadline of the 15th of August 2020!

The new dates and venue for the exhibition and prize-giving evening are to be confirmed and no personal data or submissions will be retained by event organisers beyond the 30th of the same month that the exhibition concludes.

Please keep an eye on this website for further updates.

We apologise for any disappointment but look forward to launching our exhibition at the end of summer!

*Regrettably the evening event has been cancelled in the wake of the pandemic uncertainty. We are working with our partner Pint of Science however to potentially deliver an EARTH2050 online event as part of their wider celebrations. Please keep an eye on this website for updates and visit the Pint of Science website for further information on their activities
